Do you know what sound a croaker makes, or how to tell a Jimmy crab from a Sook? Get ready to have a great time learning new things while catching your own seafood with Captain Trey. During this 4-hour cruise, you will harvest crabs from crab pots, harvest oysters from aquaculture cages, and use bottom-fishing rigs to catch fish from around the natural oyster reef in the Piankatank River in Mathews County, Virginia. This cruise is designed to be a great way for friends and family to experience the thrill of catching their own Chesapeake Bay seafood. Captain Trey has over 20 years of aquaculture experience farming oysters and catching seafood in the Piankatank. He will explain the production of aquaculture oysters, the techniques involved in commercial crabbing and the variety of fish that can be found bottom fishing the oyster reefs. Keep your catch and go home with a seafood feast….Or just enjoy looking at the marine life of the Chesapeake bay… The cost is $500 plus tax – we accept cash, Venmo and most credit cards. We can take up to 6 people. A $100 refundable deposit is required when booking. Cancelations by the Captain due to weather or mechanical issues will result in a full refund. All cruise cancelations by the customer must be made at least 7 days prior to the scheduled cruise in order to receive a refund of the deposit.
